U.S.News & World Report today released its annual list of best colleges and universities in the country. In this year's (2006) report, MSOE again ranks among the top colleges (whose highest degree is a bachelor's or master's) in the Engineering Programs and Engineering Specialties categories.
No. 11: Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs
No. 5: Best Undergraduate Engineering Specialties: Computer
No. 4: Best Undergraduate Engineering Specialties: Industrial/Manufacturing
No. 8: Best Undergraduate Engineering Specialties:Electrical/Electronics/Communications
No. 9: Best Undergraduate Engineering Specialties:Mechanical
The report is based on a survey of deans and senior faculty at colleges and universities across the country. MSOE officials noted that while the survey results are very gratifying, results should not be overemphasized by students or their families during the college selection process. Choosing a college is an individual decision that should be made by students and families based on the student's individual needs. Students come to MSOE because of its focus on hands-on and laboratory learning, outstanding faculty, small class sizes, its small college feeling within an exciting city environment and the success of its alumni.
